John Smith's Banjo
Its very similar to one that I made for Tristan Seume a few years ago, with the same materials, and a short scale with quite heavy strings. It only has 12 tension hooks this time, an attempt to help keep the skin tension down and the sound “old timey”.
John wanted a Raven or a Crow as an inlay. OK, he’s got one of them, not sure which. I’m quite getting into this inlay business.
I’m pleased with it; I hope John is too. I’m sure it will feature on his next album.
