Lucie Henwood's Ukulele

I started making this at the same time as Eric Bibb’s guitar uke, about eight months ago. I didn’t rush, it didn’t occur to me that there would be a world shortage of suitable tuning pegs just when I needed them, so it has taken even longer than I expected.  Rosewood back and sides, Englemann Spruce top, Walnut Neck, fan braced, and built as lightly as I dared, which was perhaps still a little too strong, as it sounds like a tiny guitar rather than a Uke, but I’m ok with that.

It’s strong enough to be played on a punt at Henley and pretty enough for Lucie to dress up all posh.

Lucie plays in “The Average Wife Band” (brilliant name, but Lucie is not average), and in Sam Brown’s “International Ukulele Club of Sonning Common”.
